Tried everything from the support page, all sorts of wifi settings and 2 APs. Never can make it succeed in connecting and showing data.
The current version is unreliable.
My anova and wifi were synced when i left in the morning. While home, I disconnected bluetooth and wifi and connection was stable with cellular only. Great. I was pleased when i got to work (9 miles away) the connection was still good - i even showed my coworkers the app and explained the concept and one of them is ready to buy based on the ability to start cooking on the homeward commute. It was cool seeing the live temp, and the ability to start the cook at the time. Low and behold, I was ready to leave work and start cooking but the anova lost connection ans there was no way to establish the connection from work. It wasnt till i got home, attempted to unsuccessfully connect, deleted and reinstalled the wifi app that i was back online but ultimately this defeated the whole purpose of being able to come home to a cooked meal. I work long days and have dreamed of being able to not worry about cooking dinner so late. This glitch is a major upset, possibly even a deal breaker that could cause me to refund the unit if it doesnt live up to its unique promise. My coworkers are all awaiting to hear how this is resolved before making a purchase. Help me Anova support, your my only hope (for a hands off cooked meal).
You have to check to see if it is connected to wifi everyday. If not when you want to start it remotely you cant because it wont work. It says its a one time setup, Im not sure what they mean one time.
Let me continue cook or stop from my app, the beeping is really annoying.
It seems like either the Anova folks do not read our reviews here or if they do, they do not care about software issues. I dont know if the app was working before but the version as of March 4, 2016 simply crashes while it tries to initialize the wifi connection. It does so repeatedly regardless of how strong your wifi is or if you reboot iPhone. What a disappointment!!!

Before update, the app had terrible connection issues. I was always having to reconnect the app with my sous vide, which caused much frustration since the app stated connecting the two together "was a one time thing" & monitoring my cook outside of the house wasnt possible. Ever since the update, I havent had a single issue. No more reconnecting and I can start my sous vide remotely! Thank you for de-bugging/fixing the app! Being able to produce perfectly cooked food while not spending time in the kitchen has never been easier!!
I love cooking Sous Vide but this app makes it a nightmare. Attempts to get user support take forever. So disappointed.
Been using the Anova precision cookers for at least a year now. While the device itself was well thought out and well designed this new Wi-Fi app is absolutely worthless. Not only does it just not connect in general it also still does not allow for calibration. Paying a premium for Wi-Fi functionality only to have it not work its frustrating. Why nova has yet to resolve the software issues is beyond me. Since Im reviewing the app not the unit its justifiably 1 star.
I dont usually leave reviews, but this app is garbage. When I first received my cooker in January I could connect. Since they updated the app it wont connect. Anova you guys dropped the ball and rushed this product to market without proper testing. I wish I had of spent more and got a better brand.
I did not have any significant problems with the last version, but after this update it continually drops out of Wi-Fi sync. I cant tell you the number of times Ive watched it go through what it says is a one time five minute process in order to connect, only to have it come up and say that it cannot connect to the ANOVA. Love this device but until they fix this feature, the Wi-Fi model provides no additional value.

Why pay for a wifi capability of the Anova when the a accompanying app will not connect? This app needs work.
It is amazing to me the reviews up here. Once the device is paired to your app your phone does not have to be connected to Wi-Fi to communicate with the ANOVA. People with connectivity issues are not having an issue with the app itself. That is their network. Their router probably needs an upgrade. We were having connectivity issues in our home so we called the internet company out to take a look. They determined it was our router. We bought a new top-tier dual band router and have had no connectivity issues since. As long as you have a good internet connection at your home and your machine is on, the app does what it is supposed to do. I just got my machine in and wanted to test it. I set it up and went out to run errands and was not connected to Wi-Fi on my phone at all during that time, and I got a push button notification as soon as my water climbed over 40°F. I could check the water temp anytime I wanted to, set the cook time, and the cook temperature. Bravo ANOVA, I look forward to eating well from this day forward.
This wifi app is busted and does not work. It will not connect via wifi. What kind of QA was done here? This is a joke.
Unit works. Software doesnt which was the main selling point. I have found wifi works when it wants to which is basically when you need it to work it doesnt. First unit I had customer service said send the defective unit back. Second unit they said it was an issue on their end. Fix your garbage software already.
Cant connect. It used to work great, but an update has rendered it completely useless
The device works really well. But the app is not reliable and I have to reconnect it every time but it has potential. Fix the stability of the wifi app then try to make a Apple Watch app. Thatll make this product crazy!
